The Princess Elizabeth Hospital in St Peter’s Port, Guernsey, required a high-performance waterproofing system in order to provide long-term protection from leaks. Furthermore the fuel bills were becoming an increasing burden on the running costs of the hospital and it was important to that the efficiency of the building was improved. Furthermore the works had to be carried out with minimum disruption so that the day-to-day operations of the hospital were not affected during works.

The client turned to Sarnian Roofing Ltd, a Polyroof approved contractor, to carry out the works and the Protec Warm Roof system provided the ideal solution. As no stripping of the existing roof was required, the old roof covering were able to be retained as a vapour control layer for the new warm roof system. Polyroof ‘RES’ Insulation boards were then fixed to the existing roof deck and coated directly with the BBA approved Protec system, providing a seamless and cost effective waterproofing solution that was fully guaranteed for 20 years.
