The Empire State Building, New York, is one of the most recognisable buildings in the World and was the first ever building to be completed with over 100 stories. The roof height of the building stands at 1,250 feet with the antenna raising the height of the building by an additional 204 feet. This made The Empire State building the tallest building in the World from 1931 to 1970 and led to it becoming one of the seven wonders of the modern World in 1994.

When the 85th storey walkway became unsafe due to leaks, Polyroof stepped up to the task and provided the historic building with the maintenance it deserved. Over 1860 square feet of walkway and M&E areas were seamlessly waterproofed to the very highest standards, making the walkway safe again for maintenance workers. The BBA and FM approved Protec system was the product of choice for the task and will ensure that the walkway remains waterproof for the following 25 years. Protec offers a high performance and a speed of application which is unrivalled by other products, as well as this it has the ability to rapidly mould around protrusions, upstands and outlets to create a fully watertight seal. This allowed for the task to be completed quickly and easily, thus enabling work in the building to continue as usual.
