The White Horse Pub is situated on one of Jersey’s best beaches. The pub had fallen into a state of disrepair until new ownership took over and embarked on a renovation programe. As part of the works the rear of the building was completely re-designed to create an alfresco dining space overlooking for English Channel. The adjacent area of the pub had a large flat roof space that required a high-performance waterproofing system in addition to a warm roof design that would help reduce the pub’s fuel bills and carbon footprint.

The roof was set on various levels and a solution that would provide seamless weatherproof protection for the whole area was required. Because the roof was located next to the sea and the winds can be strong, it was also imperative that the warm roof system had sufficient wind-uplift protection properties to avoid the risk of wind damage.

The Protec Warm Roof System was chosen for the project as it met or surpassed all of the client’s criteria. The speed of installation meant that works were completed rapidly and the client was soon provided with a fully weatherproof roof that provided an attractive finish to complement the renovated building. The client was most pleased with the finished outcome and, with a 20 year insurance-backed guarantee, has total peace of mind for decades to come.
