The proprietors of this large warehouse in Bedford are a lighting company and the warehouse stores large quantities of expensive electronic equipment where any leakage could prove extremely costly. The 5,500sqm roof had been leaking for some time and there was a considerable risk of damage and disruption to the plant. The client required a rapid and cost-effective solution that would eliminate the leaks for years to come.

Roofcoat Plus, a flexible polyurethane / acrylic hybrid, was used to overcoat the metal and composite sheeted roofs. Once the surface was cleaned and primed, a resin impregnated glass mat was applied to the joints to accommodate movement, and all laps and bolts were sealed prior to the topcoat application. Box and valley gutters were renovated using Polyroof’s Elastex system: a two-coat elastomeric polyurethane ideal for waterproofing all common roof and gutter substrates. The Transglaze system was used to refurbish the GRP rooflights to provide the client with a complete waterproofing solution that was guaranteed for 10 years.
