During April 2023, Polyroof, working alongside Howard Roofing and SPV, completed the refurbishment of the car park of Warwick House, Birmingham. Warwick House offers 32 one-bedroom apartments in the heart of Solihull, one of the most affluent and sought-after areas in the UK.
Upgrading the lower-ground floor car park of the apartment block was important with the car park experiencing wear and tear that had lead to deterioration over time. By upgrading these areas, the client not only wanted to improve the appearance of the space, but also enhance its safety and functionality.
Project Details
It was recommended that blue was used instead of a black coating to avoid any issues where the black absorbed the heat and the tyres would indent the surface, thus causing leaks in both the short and long term.
The Howard Roofing/SPV team placed a strong emphasis on substrate preparation, which is crucial for any application, especially on a frequently used surface like a car park. The extensive preparation ensured that the Polyroof Uni-Primer had good surface adhesion before the ProGrip system was applied.
ProGrip anti-slip coating in sky blue was applied to the entire areas in just a single coat application. The car parking bays were then created using Polyroof ProGrip anti-slip coating in traffic white.

Completing a project within the agreed-upon timelines and budget while delivering high-quality results is a significant achievement for any team. In this case, the Howard Roofing/SPV team demonstrated their expertise and professionalism by successfully completing the project as planned.
The teams attention to detail and commitment to preparing the substrate for the Polyroof Uni-Primer ensured that the ProGrip system was applied to create a strong and stable surface for years to come.
