We are proud to announce that Polyroof Managing Director, former chair and director of the LRWA, David Roberts was presented with the Special Recognition Award at the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association Awards 2022.
David has dedicated his professional knowledge and experience for the good of the liquid roofing industry for over three decades. Passion and enthusiasm have always shone through his work, not only for Polyroof, but shaping the industry and evolving the LRWA itself. A real people person, David continuously goes out of his way to help maximise skills and nurture talent, volunteering his time as a mentor for The Prince’s Trust for many years.
His kindness, enthusiasm and commitment to lead by example always saw him taking part in LRWA events, including the Charity Team Challenge, to raise money for great causes. A keen golfer, skier and triathlete, David completed one of the hardest international triathlon competitions, IronMan UK. This incorporated a two-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and finished with a 26-mile run.
David has always embraced the development of Polyroof, and grew it to what it is today. This, alongside his true commitment to liquid waterproofing is admirable, and he is a worthy winner of the award. Showing vision and ambition to achieve many ground breaking developments, the present and future landscape for both Polyroof and the LRWA would not be the same without David Roberts.
Speaking about David’s contribution to the liquid roofing industry, Cliff Weston, director on the LRWA board, said: “He has provided the vision needed to improve quality, installer competency and the overall professionalism of the liquid waterproofing association. He has always shown great ambition and belief in our sector, as well as confidence in our people to achieve growth.”
