Polyroof’s Protec Evolve Wins Best Construction Product Award

Here at Polyroof, we are celebrating our latest victory following our attendance at the Architecture & Building Expo, having been commended the Architects Choice Awards 2024’s Best Construction Product, for the market-leading Protec Evolve System. The event, which took place from 9-10 October at RDS, Dublin, is held in conjunction with the RIAI’s annual conference and brings together specifiers and manufacturers alike to shape the future of construction.

The prestigious Architects Choice Awards recognise excellence throughout the construction industry, in particular the contributions made by manufacturers to futureproof today’s buildings for the world of tomorrow. Bringing home the Best Construction Product award reinforces Polyroof’s reputation as a spearhead in the liquid waterproofing arena, fuelled by dedication to research, development, and advancement of our innovative flat roofing technology.

Polyroof’s Protec Evolve System is an ultra-low odour, sustainable, liquid applied membrane that provides long-lasting waterproofing for a wide range of refurbishment and new-build applications. The seamless solution is an innovative cold-applied resin formulation, which mitigates the risks from hot works that are associated with traditional roofing materials.

Based on an advanced flexible hybrid polyester methacrylate formulation, Protec Evolve is ultra-low odour during installation, making it ideally suited to sensitive applications, including schools and hospitals.

The system is also carbon neutral, with cradle-to-grave carbon emissions fully offset using high-quality Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) carbon credits. For every m2 of Protec Evolve installed, 21.89 kgCO2e of carbon is fully offset, having been certified by independent third party, Carbon Footprint Ltd. This ultimately helps specifiers to reduce the effects of climate change, assisting them and their clients in achieving sustainability targets.

Also boasting fast-curing capabilities, high versatility, and the ability to form excellent adhesion to a range of substrates, Protec Evolve carries BBA certification for a lifespan of at least 30 years, which is testament to the system’s robustness and durability.

Speaking of Polyroof’s latest accolade, Martin Cowman, Technical Sales Manager for the flat roof manufacturer, said: “We are thrilled to be the recipient of Best Construction Product at the Architects Choice Awards 2024. This commendation is testament to Protec Evolve’s performance capabilities, which offers specifiers the full system benefits for their flat roof projects.

“Whether you require a low odour waterproofing membrane suitable for sensitive applications, or a fast-curing solution to minimise downtime on site, Protec Evolve caters to a variety of project requirements. For those who are looking to optimise the green credentials of buildings, the system can help specifiers to achieve sustainability goals and support vital renewable energy projects through its carbon neutral status.

“We understand that our clients are often tasked with many responsibilities during a project, which is why we strive to take onboard as many of the issues associated with the flat roof as possible. Whatever your project goals are, we are here to support you. Get in touch to discuss your flat roof project with our team of experts.”

Ruth Evans, Internal Sales Manager for Polyroof, added: “In addition to this marvellous achievement, we are also proud to have recently received RIAI certification for Polyroof’s Roofing Risk Management CPD. This reaffirms our commitment to serving the Irish market with certified learning materials to ultimately help architects and specifiers in making the conscious choice when it comes to selecting flat roofing solutions.

“Our Roofing Risk Management CPD enables to delegates to learn the true lifespan cost of a flat roofing system, where responsibilities for long-term maintenance should lie, ensuring your duty of care during works, and the benefits of working closely with a manufacturer. The seminar will also provide a greater understanding of the causes around flat roof defects, the ability to identify problems, challenges, and the potentials for future issues.”
