We are very proud to announce that Polyroof’s Ruth Evans has been named The Institute of Roofing’s Student of the Year!
Ruth, Internal Sales Manager for Polyroof Products Limited was presented with the award for achieving a distinction in the loR’s Associate Course.
Speaking about her achievement, Ruth said: “I am very surprised and happy to receive this award as there were many other well-deserving candidates. When I joined Polyroof seven years ago, I had no roofing experience. I had been working in a technical role in the chemicals sector for 12 years and decided to have a complete career change after time away with a young family. Although I had transferable skills and qualifications, these were not directly associated with the roofing industry.
“Taking part in the Associate Course has enabled me to gain a recognised qualification in roofing, helping me to further develop my career and providing existing and potential clients with confidence in my expertise.
“I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge, including a much broader overview of the roofing industry and an appreciation of applications that I am not directly involved in day to day.”
Ruth is a valuable member of Polyroof’s team of liquid roofing experts, providing system and project advice to both specifiers and clients. Working closely with the field specification team & Polyroof approved contractors, Ruth has now written specifications for over 600 projects nationwide.
